Communications to guests & clients
Last updated: May 19, 2026
This policy describes how Schedlie may deliver messages to people other than you (“recipients” or “third parties”) when you choose to send reminders or related notifications on your behalf — by email and, on eligible plans, by SMS.
1. When this policy applies
It applies when you enable features that message someone who is not the logged-in Schedlie account holder, for example:
- Client or guest reminder emails (Schedlie Plus and where you have accepted this policy).
- Client or guest reminder SMS (Schedlie Plus, SMS credits available, valid mobile number, and this policy accepted).
- Lifecycle messages you opt into (such as confirmations or updates) where offered for third parties.
Reminders to you about your own events (email, SMS where enabled, or in-app notifications) are covered by our Privacy Policy overview and your notification settings, not this policy — unless you are also messaging other people on the same event.
2. Your responsibilities
- You must provide accurate contact details (email and/or phone number) for each recipient.
- You must have a lawful basis to contact each recipient about the specific appointment or event (for example their consent, your contract with them, or another valid ground under applicable law).
- For SMS, you must not send marketing or promotional blasts through Schedlie’s reminder tools; these features are for appointment-related messages tied to events you manage.
- You are responsible for complying with applicable laws (including privacy, electronic communications, and telecom rules) in your jurisdiction and the recipient’s.
- You must honour opt-out or correction requests you receive directly, and use Schedlie settings to stop future reminders where appropriate.
3. What we send
Messages are sent only according to your calendar and event settings. Content may include:
- Event title, date, time, and location (or links you provide).
- Optional description or notes you choose to include in the template.
- Your name or professional profile details you choose to show (business name, phone, email, address, directions).
- On SMS, a short Schedlie signup line may be included where enabled — you can turn this off in your SMS settings where available.
- A link to view the event on Schedlie when you enable that option for owner or remind-me SMS.
SMS length is limited by mobile networks; long text may be truncated or split into multiple segments, and each segment may count toward your SMS credit balance.
4. SMS credits and delivery
See also Billing & SMS spending for whose account is charged when reminders are sent.
- SMS is available on paid (Plus) calendars with an SMS allowance and/or prepaid SMS credits as described at purchase.
- Monthly included credits reset each billing period and don't roll over unless we state otherwise.
- We use telecommunications providers to deliver SMS; delivery is not guaranteed (for example due to invalid numbers, carrier filtering, or recipient device settings).
- Standard message and data rates may apply to recipients depending on their mobile plan.
5. How we use recipient data
We process recipients’ email addresses and phone numbers only to deliver the messages you request, prevent abuse, keep logs for troubleshooting and billing, and comply with law. See our Privacy Policy overview for retention and rights.
6. Acceptance in the app
Before enabling third-party email or SMS reminders, you may be asked to confirm that you have read and agree to this policy. We may record the date and version of that acceptance in your account.
7. Contact
